ITINERARY:
Day 1, Sunday, October 29
We have an early morning start on our journey from Trustworthy Travel to the Baltimore Airport. Board your flight from Baltimore to San Antonio, Texas, arriving around noon. We’ll meet our local guide and be escorted to our San Antonio hotel for a two night stay.
Later this afternoon, enjoy free time to enjoy San Antonio’s River Walk, where a lazy river winds its way through the city flanked by hotels and restaurants. The River Walk is a beautiful park with lush landscapes, quaint pathways, tinkling waterfalls, quiet pools, outdoor art and relaxing outdoor patios that evoke the renowned public spaces of Europe. Dinner is included this evening at a local San Antonio favorite.

Located in the heart of the city, and on the San Antonio River Walk, this 3-star hotel is within steps of the city’s top attractions, entertainment, and historic landmarks. Right outside our doors, explore The Alamo, Historic Market Square, Alamo dome, and the Majestic Theater.
Day 2, Monday, October 30
After a hot breakfast this morning our travel today takes us to the Alamo, originally a Roman Catholic Mission and the site of the famous historic battle of 1836 in which the Mexican Army laid siege to a building that was defended by a small group of Texans. Before our visit to the Alamo, we’ll enjoy the best dramatization of the traditional story of the Alamo at the 5-story IMAX Theatre viewing of “The Price of Freedom,” which immerses you into the 13-day siege and fall of the Alamo.
Later, we’ll stop for lunch and explore the markets at El Mercado, the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico, with two blocks of plazas and historic buildings full of shops, eateries and art galleries.
After lunch, we’ll have a Guided Driving Tour of San Antonio and discover San Antonio’s unique urban surroundings and old world heritage full of diverse artistry, ethnic cuisine and unique culture. A beautiful city at the axis of Hill Country, South Texas Plains and Lakes, San Antonio is “every Texan’s favorite city,’ and Will Rogers dubbed San Antonio as ‘one of four unique cities in America.’ San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States and is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas. You’ll understand why when you get a glimpse of this beautiful city!
Dinner is included this evening at the popular Acenar Mexican Restaurant located along San Antonio’s famed “River Walk.”
Day 3, Tuesday, October 31, 2023
After an included breakfast, our travels take us from San Antonio to Austin, widely recognized as one of the nation’s most distinguished state capitols. We’ll have a Guided Driving Tour of Austin viewing the sculptured gardens, historic homes and entertainment districts where you’ll find everything from trendy shops and restaurants to cool live music venues and scenic outdoor destinations. Drive through memorable East Austin and peek at the beautiful Texas Hill Country and Lakes.
After free time for lunch in Austin, we continue our journey to Dallas. Later this afternoon, we arrive Dallas, meet our local guide and check-in to our Dallas hotel. Dinner is included this evening in Dallas.
Dallas Hotel for 4-nights: HAMPTON INN & SUITES Farmers Branch. This 3-star hotel is within a 15-minute drive of American Airlines Center and Galleria Dallas. You can get a morning swim in at the indoor pool and jacuzzi or relax on the outdoor patio with fire pits. A fitness center and a snack bar/deli are other highlights.
Day 4, Wednesday, November 1, 2023
After breakfast this morning, we travel to the Dallas Cowboy Stadium for a guided tour. Once we arrive at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, we’ll tour this grand stadium, the radio box, the press boxes, the private suites, the Cotton Bowl offices, Dr. Pepper Star Bar, and the Ford Motor Company Fountain. Each of these areas is sure to impress, but the real fun begins when you walk onto the field. As you stand on the field and throw a ball, you’ll feel like a star. Then, just as the players do after a game, head to the locker room, the post-game interview room, and even see the infamous Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders locker room. This 2-hour tour will make you feel like a star!
We have a lunch stop at the Plaza of Americas Food Court before heading to the Sixth Floor Museum. The Sixth Floor Museum displays an interesting exhibition on the life, tragic death, and legacy of President Kennedy. A dramatic audio tour of The Sixth Floor, as told by the people who were there, is available to guide visitors through the exhibition. The recorded tour incorporates excerpts from historic radio broadcasts and the voices of reporters, police officers, eyewitnesses and others commenting on President Kennedy and his place in history.
Afterward, we’ll have a Guided Scenic Tour of downtown Dallas and see the former Texas School Book Depository that Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly fired his fatal shots, Thanksgiving Square, First Baptist Church, the Arts District, Fountain Place, American Airlines Center, West End Historic District, and the Highland Park Mansions – the homes of Dallas’ wealthiest citizens.
Dinner this evening is included to Southfork Ranch & Museum. In 1978, a legend was created that would virtually be unmatched by any other series in television history. It would go on to take the world by storm, accumulating millions of fans along the way and propelling an unknown Texas ranch into one recognized around the world. The series was “Dallas,” the family the Ewings, and the ranch that was home to it all was Southfork.
Day 5, Thursday, November 2, 2023
It’s going to be an HGTV kind of day as we head out to Waco for our visit to Magnolia Market made famous by the TV Series, Fixer Upper. Fans of the show will recognize the the wares at the Magnolia Market Shop, the sweets of the Silos Bakery, the Magnolia Seed & Supply, and the Magnolia Press and Home Store. There are plenty of eateries here to have a bite to eat while browsing the famous buildings.
This afternoon, we continue our Waco Tour with a visit to Jimmy Don’s Ironworks and Clint Harp Designs. You’ll also see Waco’s historic Suspension Bridge, the longest single-span suspension bridge west of the Mississippi when it was completed in 1870, a real icon of Waco history.
A visit to Texas isn’t complete without a stop at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame Museum, located on the banks of the Brazos River. Here we will find out all about these famous lawmen who have been called one of the most effective investigative law enforcement agencies in the world. The museum proudly preserves the history and displays appreciation of the Texas Rangers, a legendary symbol of Texas and the American West. Dinner is included in Waco this evening.
Day 6, Friday, November 3, 2023
After breakfast we travel to Fort Worth for a guided tour of the historical downtown and stockyards. Learn about oil barons, cattle barons, hustlers and bustlers! Relax as we cover nearly 30 historical landmarks with plenty of stops for photos. Then we’ll gather at the Stockyards in Fort Worth to watch a real Cattle Drive! Here the Old West comes to life right before your eyes during the world’s only Fort Worth Herd’s cattle drive. Real Texas cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns down Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards National Historic District. Every detail of the cattle drive – from the saddles and chaps to the boots and hats – is authentic and historically true. The Stockyards consist of mainly entertainment and shopping venues that capitalize on the “Cowtown” image of Fort Worth, and you’ll have plenty of free time to explore the Stockyards on your own.
This evening, experience a real Texan treat as we dine at the authentic Billy Bob’s Texas, the world’s largest honky tonk. After dinner, immerse yourself in the rodeo bull riders and cowboy culture of Texas during a fun-filled evening at Billy Bob’s Texas in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
Day 7, Saturday, November 4, 2023 After breakfast, enjoy the morning to relax at your hotel. Later we depart for our afternoon flight to Baltimore. Approximate arrival at Trustworthy Travel is 11:30 PM.
