Day 1, Thursday, July 15, 2027 – Welcome to Rapid City

Hotel: Elevation Inn & Suites, Rapid City (2-nights)

Enjoy a free evening to relax, explore Rapid City and have dinner on your own.

Day 2, Friday, July 16, 2027 – RAPID CITY                     (B,D)

Begin your day with a striking journey through Badlands National Park, one of America’s most dramatic and otherworldly landscapes. Marvel at its rugged spires, colorful layered formations, sweeping prairie grasslands, and the wildlife that call this ancient terrain home. Along the way, you’ll stop at several scenic overlooks—perfect for capturing unforgettable photos.

Your tour also includes a visit to the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site and Museum, where you’ll gain a fascinating look into Cold War history and the powerful missile system once hidden beneath the Great Plains. You’ll continue with a stop at the legendary Wall Drug, a one-of-a-kind shopping and dining complex famed for its quirky attractions and Western charm.

After returning to the hotel to relax and freshen up, your adventure continues with a special evening at Fort Hays Old West Town and Chuckwagon Dinner Show, home to the original Dances with Wolves film set. Wander the wooden boardwalks, peek into working frontier shops, and experience the charm of a real Western town. Your hearty, cowboy-style dinner is served on tin plates—just like the cowhands of the prairie—followed by a lively stage show filled with Western music, humor, and down-home entertainment.

Day 3, Saturday, July 17, 2027              RAPID CITY * CRAZY HORSE * MOUNT RUSHMORE * DEADWOOD    (B)

Visit Crazy Horse Memorial, a monument carved out of a mountain that pays respect to the great Native American hero, Chief Crazy Horse. Drive deep into the Black Hills, through what was Sioux Indian territory, to see the stunning granite faces of Mount Rushmore, a giant monument to four great American presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt. On to Deadwood, a lawless frontier town during the 1876 Gold Rush, where Jack McCall murdered Wild Bill Hickok during a poker game. Overnight here, and discover Deadwood’s Wild West ways as you walk in the footsteps of legends like Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock. 

Optional Excursion: Deadwood Guided Tour – Discover the unique history of this once lawless gold camp as your local guide recounts local facts, lore and more, all the while introducing you to some of the Deadwood’s most colorful characters, Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok.

Day 4, Sunday, July 18, 2027                 DEADWOOD * SHERIDAN * CODY     

Hotel: Buffalo Bill Village, Cody, WY (1-night)

This morning, head through high country, where open-range cattle kings made war on the homesteaders in the 1890s. Drive past Sheridan and then ascend into the alpine region of the Bighorn Mountains, and the site of the Battle of Tongue River. Overnight in Buffalo Bill’s frontier town of Cody.  During your free time this evening, you may choose to visit Cody’s Wild West Rodeo featuring bulls, broncos and cowboys providing two hours of real wild, western, family-friendly action.

Day 5, Monday, July 19, 2027 CODY * YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

Proceed through Shoshone National Forest to Yellowstone National Park. As you enter Yellowstone National Park, the landscape transforms into a world shaped by fire, water, and time.

Travel along the historic Grand Loop Road, a scenic drive that showcases some of Yellowstone’s most iconic sights. Your journey brings you to Artist Point, one of the park’s most breathtaking overlooks. From here, take in sweeping views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, where colorful canyon walls—brilliant yellows, reds, and oranges—frame the powerful Lower Falls as it plunges 308 feet into the gorge below.

Optional Excursion:  Buffalo Bill Center of the West – Learn about the history, culture, and beauty of the American West at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, the world’s finest Western museum!

Day 6, Tuesday, July 20, 2027 * YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK      

Today, continue your journey through the wonders of America’s first national park as you return to Yellowstone to explore its iconic geyser basins in greater depth. Wander among steaming vents, bubbling mud pots, and vividly colored hot springs that showcase the park’s incredible geothermal energy. Experience the thrill of watching Old Faithful erupt—its dependable, skyward “blow” is one of the most famous natural performances in the world.

As you travel through the park, take in sweeping views of rugged mountains, deep canyons, and pristine rivers that reflect Yellowstone’s untamed beauty. Keep your eyes open—you’re in one of the planet’s premier wildlife sanctuaries, where bison, elk, pronghorn, bears, and other creatures often appear against the dramatic backdrop of the landscape.

Day 7, Wednesday, July 21, 2027        GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK  &  JACKSON

Head south into magnificent Grand Teton National Park, one of America’s last preserves of wild solitude. Its 13,770-foot-high ridges are crested with snow most of the year. Stroll along the shores of beautiful glacier-fed Jenny Lake before ending the day in the Wild West town of Jackson. This evening, enjoy a barbecue cookout and Wild West, toe-tapping musical entertainment!  Travel by horse-drawn covered wagon into Cache Creek Canyon and experience dinner and entertainment before returning to Jackson. 

Optional Excursion:  Jackson Chuckwagon Supper & Show – Hop aboard a horse-drawn covered wagon and immerse yourself in the Old West atmosphere as you travel into Cache Creek Canyon for a delicious BBQ Chuckwagon Supper and toe-tapping musical entertainment!

Day 8, Thursday, July 22, 2027             JACKSON

During your free time in Jackson today, take time to relax and explore the historic downtown area of Jackson. You might choose to join a scenic trip down the Snake River, or go horseback riding through Bridger Teton National Forest, or embark on a Grand Teton Wildlife Safari.  Your day is free to do as you please. 

Optional:  Snake River Float Trip – Experience the beauty and geology of the Snake River on this fun and scenic 3-hour float trip between Grand Teton National Park and Bridger Teton National Forest. Enjoy an 8-mile float trip that passes nesting areas of bald eagles, ospreys and a plethora of other bird species and wildlife.

Day 9, Friday, July 23, 2027                   JACKSON–SALT LAKE CITY     (D)

Hotel: Crystal Inn & Suites, Salt Lake City, UT (1-night)

Today, travel to Salt Lake City, Utah’s vibrant capital. Set on the edge of Great Salt Lake Desert, this center of the Mormon religion is where Brigham Young declared to his followers, “This is the place.” An included Salt Lake City Sightseeing Tour offers a glimpse of Temple Square, the Capitol Building, and the beautiful downtown area. 

Included:  Salt Lake City Dinner at a local Restaurant – Enjoy a Farewell Dinner this evening with your fellow travelers at a local restaurant.

Day 10, Saturday, July 24, 2027           SALT LAKE CITY   (B)

Your vacation ends this morning.  We’ll transfer to the Salt Lake City Airport for our flight and transportation home.
