ITINERARY:

We’re Off to New Orleans!

Day 1 – Sunday, April 11

Our New Orleans adventure begins with deluxe motorcoach transportation from Trustworthy Travel to Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI).

We’ll board our included flight from BWI to New Orleans (MSY). Upon arrival, we’ll meet our local representative in baggage claim and board our waiting motorcoach for the short ride into New Orleans.

Our home for the next five nights is the Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter, located right on famous Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter.

After checking in and getting settled, we’ll walk approximately five short French Quarter blocks to the New Orleans School of Cooking. Sit back and enjoy as a local chef prepares four traditional Louisiana dishes, sharing stories, cooking techniques and a little New Orleans humor along the way. Best of all, we’ll enjoy the delicious creations for our included dinner!

Day 2 – Monday, April 12

New Orleans • Mardi Gras • WWII Museum • Mississippi River Cruise

Enjoy a full breakfast at our hotel before beginning a comprehensive guided city tour of New Orleans aboard our motorcoach.

We’ll discover the history, architecture and colorful neighborhoods that make New Orleans unlike any other American city.

Next, we’re off to Mardi Gras World, where we’ll go behind the scenes and see how the enormous, elaborate floats and props used in New Orleans’ famous Mardi Gras celebrations are created.

At midday, we’ll have free time for shopping and lunch on our own at The Shops at Riverwalk.

Our afternoon is devoted to the acclaimed National WWII Museum, including admission to the Museum and its immersive Beyond All Boundaries 4D experience. The museum is open daily and tells the American experience of World War II through extensive exhibits, artifacts and multimedia presentations.

After returning to our hotel to freshen up, we’ll walk to the riverfront for one of the highlights of our vacation.

At 6:00 PM, boarding begins for our Steamboat Natchez Dinner & Jazz Cruise. We’ll cruise the mighty Mississippi River while enjoying dinner and live jazz—a perfect New Orleans evening!

Day 3 – Tuesday, April 13

Laura Plantation & Louisiana Swamps

Following our included breakfast, we’ll board our motorcoach and leave the city behind for Louisiana’s historic plantation country.

Our first destination is Laura Plantation, a historic Creole sugar plantation along the Mississippi River. We’ll tour the restored Big House and grounds and learn about the lives of the people—both free and enslaved—who lived and worked here. The plantation’s cultural tour incorporates the historic house, grounds and stories preserved from the plantation’s past.

Next, we’ll enjoy an included lunch at Frenier Landing.

Then it’s time to experience an entirely different side of Louisiana aboard our Louisiana Swamp Boat Tour. From the comfort of a covered boat, we’ll travel through the bayou and learn about Cajun life, the wetlands and the wildlife that inhabits this fascinating ecosystem.

Keep your eyes open for alligators, turtles, birds and other Louisiana wildlife!

We’ll return to our French Quarter hotel later in the afternoon. The evening is yours, with dinner on your own and plenty of time to experience New Orleans at your own pace.

Day 4 – Wednesday, April 14

New Orleans – Your Day, Your Way!

After a full breakfast at the hotel, the entire day and evening are yours to explore New Orleans.

Our hotel puts us right in the French Quarter, making this a wonderful opportunity to discover the city at your own pace.

Browse the shops and galleries, explore Royal Street, visit Jackson Square, stop for beignets and café au lait, listen to street musicians, shop the French Market, or simply find a comfortable spot and watch New Orleans go by.

Our local guide will be available to offer suggestions for sightseeing, shopping and dining.

Lunch and dinner are on your own, giving you an opportunity to sample some of the restaurants and famous foods that make New Orleans such a great culinary destination.

Day 5 – Thursday, April 15

French Quarter & A New Orleans Farewell

Enjoy another full breakfast at our hotel, followed by a leisurely day to continue exploring the French Quarter. Shop, sightsee, revisit a favorite spot or simply relax and enjoy our final full day in New Orleans. Lunch is on your own.

Late this afternoon, we’ll gather for some authentic New Orleans entertainment with a live jazz show at Fritzel’s European Jazz Pub.

After the show, we’ll walk a short distance to the historic Tujague’s Restaurant for our included farewell dinner.

It’s a wonderful way to spend our final evening together—New Orleans jazz followed by a special dinner in the French Quarter.

Day 6 – Friday, April 16

New Orleans → Baltimore → Home

Enjoy one final included breakfast before saying goodbye to New Orleans.

Our bags will be collected from outside our rooms, and then we’ll board our motorcoach for the transfer to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and board our flight home.

Upon arrival at BWI, our Trustworthy Travel motorcoach will be waiting to bring us home, completing our six-day New Orleans adventure.
